Brief Author Bio: Some people claim they exist, therefore they write. For me, it is the reverse. I write, therefore I exist. Even if I never put the stories down to paper, my mind will always be generating them for that is who I am. I am a writer (who is right now procrastinating on editing). Background on writing: I have been writing fictional stories on and off since I was five. I tend to favor dark topics that hint rather go graphic and sarcastic humor. My genres range from historical fiction to fantasy to sci-fi to comedy. I adore horror, but I have some ways to go on learning on to maintain tension. As a rule, I don't write romance or erotica. Not that I have anything against those genres, I just don't believe in torturing my betas anymore with my trite attempt at it. But I will beta read and mentor people in those genres, just don't ask me to write it. My strengths in writing consist dominantly of characterizations, world building, irony/twists, and being able to complete a draft under thirty days. My weaker areas is grammar and pacing on plots. Personality:Typically, I am easy going and very open minded when it comes to the writing world. However, I am blunt and have a dry, twisted sense of humor. Beta reading policy: I do not accept random beta reader offers nor do I make them. As a beta reader, I am harsh (while I will tell you why something doesn't work), and I am slow (i.e. months +). I will be happy to glance at a passage(< 1 page) for a specific problem from time to time, but I reserve the right to tell you I am too busy at a particular time. As for sharing . . . outside my writing group, I typically do not share my stories unless I have known you for a bit. Stance on fan fiction: If the writer contributes to the world and doesn't contradict the characters' personalities, please feel free to send me the link. I have seen some fan fiction that outshines the org. author of the world. However, if the writer has simply decided to simply add themselves to the story in the form of a Mary Sue, I am not interested. I despise Mary Sues. |
