Brief Author Bio:

I thought my life had exploded in my face, but actually I was being born. I may be broker and busier than I've ever experienced, but I am happier than I've ever been. I look forward to new challenges, new friends, and publishing my new book (once I write it here!)

Synopsis: Get Over It & Get Started

I'm a rebel and am not technically writing a novel, but a self-help book. Ish. We'll see.

Excerpt: Get Over It & Get Started

If you find yourself thinking, “Poor me” in any circumstance, you are victim. Let’s not mince words or ease into this, let’s be honest with each other. You can stay in that place and get pity for your circumstances or you can get over it and get started with your life.

Being a victim stinks. It is no fun. There are those of us that have been hit by natural disaster and lost nearly everything. There are those of us that have been hit by death and have lost our sunshine or our security. There are those of us that have been hit by disease and have lost our health and stability. There are those of us who have been hit by our husbands and lost ourselves. These are big losses. These are huge setbacks. These hurt and cause fear and force us to rethink our position in the world.

These are not excuses for us to cower in a corner and never take control of our lives again.

No, it will not be easy. Nothing worth doing ever is. Besides, you do not want an easy life. An easy life is boring. Easy does not mean peace. Easy certainly does not mean worthwhile. You are better than that. You desire a peaceful, worthwhile life, and you shall have it. But first, you must stop being a victim.

You can be victimized, but you can choose not to be a victim.

We are not victims
We are in control of our own destinies
