Synopsis: Ferry Me Home
Lenox Madsen has spent the last century as ferryman of the dead, ushering souls from Limbo to their final destination, be it heaven or hell. He doesn’t much care where he’s taking his charges only that they get there on time. Lenox appears as his charges need him to and no one has seen his true face. That doesn’t bother him though. He’s content to do his job and not ask questions until he meets recently departed 9-year-old Sylvie. A victim of abuse and now murdered, Sylvie’s soul is bound for hell thanks to someone tricking Fate into believing she is a sinner.
A feeling of familiarity stirs in Lenox as Sylvie begs him not to take her. He’s been in the land of the dead for a long time but there is some spark that ignites within him, reminding him of another little girl who died many years ago, his own daughter. Spurred by this longing, Lenox cannot keep from agreeing to stay her transit to hell.
There might be a way to save Sylvie’s soul, but only if they take advantage of a little known rule in the cosmic framework. As ferryman, Lenox can take Sylvie back to the land of the living to prove she is innocent, that her death was a murder and to find the one responsible. But they’ve only got 72 hours. If they succeed, Sylvie’s soul has the chance to enter heaven where she belongs. If they fail, her soul is sent to hell immediately and Limbo is in disarray, Death is gridlocked. It’s not just one soul’s eternal resting place at stake, all of mankind could be altered because of an eons old feud.
