Brief Author Bio: I'm currently a senior at the University of North Texas, in my last semester of college, majoring in English with a concentration of Literature. As of August 08, 2009 I'm a newlywed so I'm getting adjusted to having a new name. It's rather obvious, but I'm a huge nerd. I use commas liberally, and I probably fill the comma quota of several small countries. But hey, it's my right. I also don't understand why the apostraphe is going out of style... and don't tell me it's because people don't know how to use it, that's just lazy. Speaking of lazy, I am really, really lazy. But putting all that aside, I'm pretty nice and open to a lot of things. |

Synopsis:
Based on my character in Final Fantasy XI, the novel follows the transition between adventurer and heroine for young Korynth. Yet as she attains what she has always desired, she must learn of the consequences that follow. Forced to mature into a woman capable of choosing between love and responsibility, she finds heartache to be her constant companion in a life that is ever-changing.
Excerpt:
Korynth never asked to be a hero. As a child she never dreamed about defeating evil and saving the world. If there was one thing she did not possess it was physical prowess; never could she hope to single-handedly destroy an army of beastmen or worm her way out of tight corner. No one thought of her as a leader, no one aspired to be her, and almost no one knew her name. Whether the gods took favor on her or not was still a topic that was up for debate as, from the moment she was born, it was not into greatness.
Yet it was her heart, pure and true, that made her a hero long before she was even aware of what was happening. It was in the humility that she was born into, the empathy that had manifested within her from the moment she was conceived, that labeled her from the moment she took her first breath. As soon as her fate was spun, as soon as her heart began to beat in her mother's belly, it had all been decided: Korynth was a hero.
