After a while Konstantinopoulos said to the lieutenant. "Will you please excuse me, I need to get to the bathroom. I'll be back in a moment."

At the bathroom he chose the longest queue, then carefull washed his hands, then washed and dried his face. When he got back to the bar, he found the lieutenant slumped forward onto the bar counter. He shook him, but got no response except a moan. Let the dead look after the dead, he decided relieved, and rejoined his teammates, and convinced them to go home a little earlier than they would have liked.

The lieutenant woke up the next morning with a terrible hangover and a slightly dented reputation. He could remember very little of the party, but as he gingerly washed his face he touched the bump on his nose, and wondered why he remembered a rugby match from very long ago.

What the lieutenant did not know was that Willemse had developed a trick to get rid of obnoxious characters at his bar. He would look into their eyes with his innocent blue eyes, and serve them their beers. While they were charmed by his charming smile, they would not notice his quick hands fortifying their beers with double whiskies, and very soon they would keel over, or become incoherent and be dragged away by their friends.
