The sounds of battle were muted - somewhere far off he could hear the persistent bom bom bom of a howitzer. He thought about Syren, wondered if she had hit the city yet, whether she was about to face a similar kind of space demon - then he snapped all extraneous thought from his mind and clicked into crusader mode.
