Return of Eden
an excerpt
Prologue
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the Earth.”
That’s how the story had always begun. From the beginning of my life, that was I was told. What followed was a simple yet amazing tale of the foundation of a whole planet and is many and varied civilizations. There used to be debates about the validity of the Judeo-Christian creation story. On one side were the hard-line theologians who maintained that every word was to be taken literally. God formed the world from nothing, spoke all of creation into existence, and placed one man and one woman in an idyllic garden as a grand experiment. On the other side were the strict atheists who followed the religion of evolution. The Big Bang was their God and it randomly created everything in existence as a bizarre accident.
A multitude of theories ranged between the two schools of thought. The debates were fierce and seemingly eternal. Without conclusive proof, no one could be declared right since no one could be proven wrong. So the battle raged on until Armageddon came to our little corner of the universe and taught us what a battle really was. After that day, no sane could doubt the truth of our origins. That’s not to say that there were not lunatics aplenty who threw their own flawed logic in the face of reality.
What follows are the recorded stories of the witnesses of those fateful days that threw everything we thought we knew into the trash compactor and flipped the switch. I recorded these from all viewpoints and walks of life. What you will find in these pages are the analysis of rational minds, the ravings of madmen, the preaching of the devout, and the revelations of those who brought about the end of the world as we knew it. I have tried to be as impartial as I can, and hope to bring the whole story to fruition in as lucid and factual a manner as possible while conveying all of the emotion and chaos of the last decade to future generations. May Elohim consecrate this work and may it bring greater understanding to those it reaches.
