Synopsis: The Book of Design: Chapter One
Thirteen-year-old Julia Chamberlain is visiting her grandfather in Vermont when she takes down an old book from his shelf. The title -- The Book of Design -- intrigues her, and she opens the book. She is disappointed to find page after page of mostly-incomprehensible writing, but her disappointment changes to shock when her grandfather comes in the room and yells, "My God! What have you done?"
In the days that follow, Julia will be thrust into the midst of extraordinary events surrounding the Book of Design, and it will fall to her to protect and keep the Book from the forces of the evil Osemawe. Will she succeed? That remains to be seen, but since it's a book for young readers, probably ... though not for a couple of books.
Intrigue, suspense, magic, romance, and pages of words which will likely be cut in later revisions -- The Book of Design: Chapter One has it all!
