Synopsis: Imperium Vaporis

The standard genres do not apply when you're writing a steampunk story set in the Roman Empire, with a twist of alternate history that then rapidly diverges from our own.

It all begins with the Battle of Teutoburg Forest, in which the gods have decided to spare the Romans the massacre we remember, thanks to their new regiment of steam-powered steel cavalry units. From there, having proven itself, steam power drives the Imperium on to a new era of expansion, destruction, conspiracy and intrigue.
