Brief Author Bio: iScribe haunts Portland, Oregon and is an effulgent mutant who runs amok with margarita and fountain pen in hand. She's a distracted writer, a steampunk pirate, and a fire-tressed knitter who enjoys photography. iScribe is one easily bewildered by all things shiny (and loves to reference herself in the third person). Her writing has dabbled itself into urban fantasy and horror, but this year she is embarking into new territory by way of the creepy, dark scaery tale. |

Synopsis: The Book of Ashes
Constance Crow had a very old soul, a very old soul she kept.
Until one day, she pissed it away, and the Scaeries upon her they crept.
They took her soul and left her hollow, claiming it was now theirs for the taking.
Constance sighed, then she cried, then followed a path to find her soul of gods making.
For there would be no more smiles, gingersnaps, or daydream waking.
No more sandcastles, will o'wisps, or heart-thumping laughter.
To be eternally cursed without a face or a name and become a shell ever after.
