Synopsis: Blue Diamonds

Genre: Fanfiction/Romance/Drama/Coming of Age

This novel takes precepts from both an Alternate Universe of Gregory Maguire's Wicked and The Lion King.

Elphaba Thropp will be sixteen in barely a month and her life has gone through some drastic changes. At the age of eleven after finding letters from her Great Grandfather Peerless, The Eminent Thropp, begging her Minister father, Frex, to allow Peerless to raise Elphaba and groom her to attend Shiz (which Frex refused) Elphaba ran away to stay with Peerless. After five years of being with him she has finally found someone in her family she is like.. who understands her and who she understands. Finally she is happier than she could have dreamed.

Peerless is preparing his Great Granddaughter to assume his place as the ruler of Munchkinland and has decided to take her on a diplomatic journey to the Vinkus to visit the Arjiki tribe. As a young girl she met and fancied the tribal prince Fiyero, but what's changed now that both are young adults with futures ahead of them. Fiyero's tribe is facing danger as his mother's health worsens and Fiyero's deceased father's scheming brother plots to use Elphaba against him to take over the Arjiki tribe and make himself king. What will Fiyero's Blue Diamonds ceremony (that which makes him actually a man in the eyes of his tribe and able to rule as a Prince) change. And most importantly will it change how he sees Elphaba? Can Fiyero pull his family together with Elphaba and Peerless' s help before it's too late? What is being a man really?
