Brief Author Bio:

Hello there! The name's raffisgirl, writing is the game! This is my fourth NaNoWriMo year, and if you're thinking of joining, DO IT!!! It is the most awesome thing to create a world entirely of your own! It also will improve your writing skills beyond imagination.

The first year of this craziness, I wrote an anthology of short stories, ranging from a Star Wars fanfic, to talking wolves, to a story about the Elements, to a story about the Masons and Excalibur.

For some reason or other (probably because I was out of my mind), I decided to do it again the next year. That month of craziness produced Lord of War- an exciting story that was a blend of Star Wars and Angels and Demons.

Last year I was back again, with a new novel idea called The Duke's Demon! That was by far my most complicated and ambitious project so far, and resulted in a story that I am STILL working on today. A story of royal demonic heritage, dark matter spaceships, a duke with a mysterious past, and the demon bound to him for eternity.

I am still working on the Duke's Demon, which I hope to send to a publisher sometime in the future, but I need a break to refresh my writing juices. So I am going to both work on the Duke's Demon and a new idea which currently has no title.

What is this new idea? Briefly, an all-powerful church who can bring the dead back to life, zombies, and a powerful undead man/creature known only as Rain the Raised. Check out my novel page for more info!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my profile! Please, send me comments about my novel!

Synopsis: "Rain the Raised" (Tentative)

To His Holiness Lightbringer Oros IV-

The creature known as Rain the Raised first appears in a record from Chapel Lake, a little over two centuries ago, when a Cleanser was called to investigate the disappearance of a young woman. His last report indicated that he had located the creature responsible. I will quote his description here-

"...saw him on the banks of the river that ran through Chapel Lake, this scar on Ariya's creation staring up at the moon. In all my years of Cleansing Dark Ones I have never seen such a large specimen- he cleared six feet and went on to seven, stopping perhaps five inches short of eight. His hair was the dirty whitish yellow of bone and flowed halfway down his back, his skin the waxy frozen pallor of the newly dead. His eyes, reflecting the moon, were sky blue, solid with no pupils or even whites, the blue of a blind man's eyes..."

Our Cleanser stated his intention to confront the creature, interrogate him as to the location of the young woman, and then kill him. That was the last transmission we ever received. He was presumed dead, or undead, which is worse.

Similar reports crop up throughout the decades. Cleansers found horribly mauled, barely recognizable, villagers seeing him by the moonlight standing over the corpses of Ariya's servants (may she strike him down where he stands!!) Always, Cleansers are found dead or not found at all.

About fifty years ago, all reports stop. There was at least two sightings a decade, we actively pursued him across moor and field. But then this creature, who we have learned calls itself "Rain the Raised", simply disappeared. We did not dare assume him dead, but we prayed he was at last gone from our borders.

It is my opinion, your Holiness, that his reappearance must be dealt with swiftly, lest he unleash another wave of terror upon our Chapels. I would advise the deployment of your most trusted Cleanser to deal with this threat.

Humbly your and Ariya's Servant, now and Forever-
Hubert Kinasi, Official Chapel Central Historian.
