The Phantom Crystal
an excerpt

She sat down on top of the cliff and sighed. She even contemplated clicking her heels together three times while saying “There is no place like home”, but she did not have any ruby shoes. She just had a normal, worn pair of sneakers. Sneakers that now also bore traces of dried mud.
“I've had enough,” she finally decided. “I'm quitting this assignment, and that's that. I'm going to sit here until someone finds me. And if they don't find me, I suppose I'll have to sit here until I rot.”
On second thought…
“No, actually, I have changed my mind. I shall lie down instead.”
