Synopsis: An Organized Mess
By scratching him out, I've created a mystery - Marc Johns.
Success doesn’t come easy for Beatrice Evans—or “Bee” who’s worked in an ice cream truck for the last two summers in her hometown of Chatham, Ont. When the prestigious Holden & Norwitz architecture firm is looking for new interns, Beatrice leaves the hive, her boss Jack and his Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, her phony high-school friends and heads for Toronto. However, Beatrice's world starts to crumble when she discovers that she is adopted and her biological father has just passed away.

Excerpt: An Organized Mess
The day I discovered my biological father had died I didn’t cry. Instead, I drank 14 vodka lemonades one for every year since the family split up. For the past two summers here in my hometown of Chatham, Ontario, a relative ghost town, three hours west of Toronto, I worked in an ice cream truck asking high school students,
“Would you like your ice cream in a cup or a cone?” Only to see them roll their eyes snarkily at me as though there was any other answer. To me ice cream seemed like the obvious answer since there were just enough sprinkles to sugarcoat the fact if I didn't get out of Chatham, I was bound to be a ghost myself.
