Brief Author Bio:

I'm just about to start my second year of my PhD in Human Geography at the University of Sheffield. I am studying the concepts of quality and waste in the speciality coffee industry.
This is my fourth year of Nanowrimo; I have completed it twice, I was ML for Darlington last year, and kinda an unofficial ML the year before that. I've also attempted - but never finished Script Frenzy for the last two years. (My application for the Phd place took priority - and in hindsight I'm very glad it did!!)
I love to write and do so all the time - Jo and I run RASC (Random Acts of Senseless Creativity) which is our writing group/general creative outlet which can be found at www.rascwriters.org.uk Rasc was born out of our Nanowrimo groups, where we slowly realised it was far more fun and productive to write in a group.
I also blog all the time, mainly about coffee and food, ( http://drcoffee.wordpress.com and http://social-life-of-food.blogspot.com ) and I also contribute to www.100words.com religiously.
When not writing, I cook, drink waaaaaaay too much coffee, moan about trains to Sheffield, practice Kendo, keep ferrets and collect corsets and giant boots.

Synopsis: As Black as Hell, As Sweet As Love

Alternative history of the 17th century London coffee houses, and how the first crops were brought to Brazil. Complete with parrots, tulips, royal scandals and a sociophobic postman.
