Behind every myth there is a tale. Behind every tale there is legend. Behind every legend there is a face. And behind every face there is a heart.
But not every face can be seen, and not every heart can be bared. Such is the fate of my family. Living in a world where everyone but we are human, we are oft misunderstood. And this misunderstanding led to a legend, that legend to a tale, and that tale to a myth. But like all myths, there is truth. And that truth is us. The defenders of the elements, defenders of the land, defenders of all life.
But some of us do not heed the way we were meant to live and instead abuse the honor bestowed upon us by the humans. Instead, they live up to the title they have been given – gods.
