She lay there in the darkness for what seemed to be eternity, her eyes looking at nothing, her mind blank, her heartbeat slowly fading, her body slowly freezing. Her eyes were about to close for the last time. She was too tired to fight for her life and all she longed for was rest, sleep, be it her last.
