Excerpt: Good Times

It was the last big party of the summer, and all four of them arrived together. Alix, Rose, Jay and Nate: BFFLs. Entering their final year at Illea Regional High School, each one knew that this would be a year to remember. Or, in Jays case, a year he was very much looking forward to not remembering.
The house was full – the girl who was hosting had it to herself for the weekend, as her parents had taken a vacation to Ocean City. Lights flashing and music you could hear down the block, Jay whispered in Alix’s ear, “What is this, Superbad?”
With a chuckle and a grin, Alix simply shook her head. These boys, always so obsessed with movies and pop culture. It seems like everything can be referenced back to a Seth Rogen project these days. Linking her arm with Roses’, they pushed open the front door of the house and entered the fray.
