Walktrough
an excerpt

There are many things that someone needs to do to get over a broken heart and one of the things to do is not deal with it. You need to do this a lot at first so you should do other things. Fortunately there will be many things for you to do since you have spend a lot of time making connections with people using the energy that Kare gave you. So these are going to be your options. You are going to have a lot of things to do at Writer’s Corner. There will be the writer’s group, without Moxie so it gets better. There is also a day i when kids from the Bhuddist center come over to meditate and consider the universe. It always mystified you how kids could work in Bhudism. You thought that there natural energy and, well, lack of discipline was rather unbecoming the entire religion. There also seems to be some kind of live and let live creed from the elders of Bhudism that makes keeping kids in line, which they traditionally are in this country, an impossibility. So this is what they do. They take them to you every Wednesday and have them run around Writer’s corner for a half an hour while you try to tutor kids an any subject they feel they need help in. The challenge here is to use your tolerance and creativity points in order to make something for these little Bhudists to do whithout driving you insane. There will also be oppurtunities to teach Saturday classes, go to public events and talk up writer’s corner like you will never believe. It is also time for you to mean Mean. This will give you much to doat first and much to think about later. So lets get to what you get to do. Once you work the writer’s corner enough you will have the option to add Sod to your party. Oh and Mari and Links will desert your party as soon as Kare does, although Links seems to do it with a bit of regret. There will be a chance to add her to the party again at a higher level. But for now you are alone and you will meet Sot alone. He has found a band that needs help and you can be the one to help thegm if you accept this quest. You should do it, it will take your mind off of Kare. Sot has brought his band friends and some other people who have also accepted this quest for whatever reason. The most important person at this juncture will be Agnew, a feisty, beautiful and lost girl who tries too hard to be happy and should really just accept that she is always going to be miserable and that she should stop ruining other people’s oives. But this is a value judgement that we tend to shy away from in games such as this. But anyway. The band needs help with making a music video and you can help by being in it and getting other people to be in it. This is a quest where the more costumes you dress in the more experience points you get as well as increasing your physical attraction, your link to fantasy and your esteem in matters relating to the physical realm. If you’ve been putting points into your biking your physical points should be quite large indeed. In this quest you will go to Ri’s studio where there are an infinite number of costumes. The more you wear, the more points you get. I wore a pirate, a fire sorcerer, an axe man, the queen of hearts and Uncle Sam, but there are many other costumes that you can wear. They will all give you the same amount of points. You will also get a option to have the Again quest, where you spend your time seducing and bedding Again. This is not the best quest you an doat this point and it actually gives you some pretty shitty items and skill points that you can use for something better. But it’s the easiest route you can take at this point and you really need SOME items or skill points or you are going to loose. You cannot abide this so you can go for this quest. Alternitivly you can put this energy into art, writing, teaching or anything else you can possibily think of. But you could also do the quest where you try to dull your pain of being alone by being with someone for one night and try to make this need into a legetimently relationship based on coincidence in pain. This will, of corse as it never does, work. But there will be activity and in the end this is all you will really need. To do something, or someone. What a glorious and wonderful thing to be a hero. Trying to continue the relationship with Again will lead nowhere so the moment you conquer her you are done with her and she with you. Move on. There is nothing more to see here. There is a very short period of time where you will be back in Oklahoma and working and living. You will then go back to Alemeda for Christmas with your family. There is very little you can do in the meantime. Or is there? When you return from the Thanksgiving quest there will be opportunity to make a connection with a band and be equipt wuth the music option. You can attract friends and allies by attending parties and events. There will be a time to work with Writer’s Corner on various projects and there will be the additional quest of getting into college. This quest takes a good long time to complete, even though you were informed about it long ago. The idea is that you do not have enough experience to thougholy enjoy and get the most out of returning to college and all the intellectual challenges that it will hold in store for you. You also don’t have enough money to attend college and if you stay there a year then you get to go to college at state tuition. You gain wisdowm points for this. So you need todo everything to get ready for going back to school before you actually get back into that. So it will take some more time to get back to school, but you want to be right there when you do. Thinking about this during this point of the game is also a good way to get your mind off of Kare. There is very little else going on in this inbetween time that does not involve Writer’s Corner or Kare. She is still with them and you still see her quite regularly. There are two point where you need to watch yourself here. First, when you just get back you will get a ride with her to the Writer’s Corner meeting and you will discover a message she sent to Cynth. The gist of the message is that she doesn’t want any more close contact with you. To show her you can spend a good deal of energy, time and pain points avoiding her. This will not increaseyour stats, but it is time to minimize your pain points and this is one way to do it. The other instance is a dinner encounter. This time you have a weapon where you can tell her that she hurt you and you are not over this hurt. It may not come out like this, there is a randomness generator in here I haven’t figured out yet. But she will attack with the weapon that she doesn’t really care and may have never cared at all in the first place. That is something you should defend against if you can. Search your inventory thouroghly. I spent several hours doing so and couldn’t find a thing to protect my character from the hurt, confusion and loss that happened after this attack. But that doesn’t mean that there is nothing to be done about it. I just must not have searched hard enough. The phone will be a nessesary source of comfort and sanity during this time. You have just left Alemeda and feel the need to return to it again. Your friends will also come in handy if you feel like you can tell any of them what happened to you. There may not be a comfort level at this stage yet. There will also be snow. Snow is fantastic, because even though it inspires and invigorates you, everyone else in Oklahoma seems to hate or be annoyed by it. Take strength in this natural occurrence when you can. The bleak cold will become a great friend in this part of the game. This may seem a bit dramatic to some, but the writers knew what they were doing and I think that it’s allright to forgive them a bit of excessive symbolism. But then again I DO love snow so. Before you know it you will be on a plane again to Alemeda. Kare will agree to drive you back but you will have to make it there on your own. You need to use you packing skills in order to make your bag small enough so that it can fit with you as you travel. Using your skills at a computer and with time tables you will be able to figure that you can catch a late night train to the airport, sleep there and than take the plane back to Alemeda. The important part of this quest is to stay very much in the dark about the realities of sleeping in an airport. There will be a few moments where your eyes do in fact close, and it also depends on your tiredness level from the previous nights if you choose to not sleep well for a while to greater increase the chance of sleeping in an airport, but there will be very little to show for it either way. There are just some things you are not meant to do and sleeping on an airport, or indeed in a plane at all, is just not one of them.
