Excerpt: Pure Devil
Looking over the sea of writhing, drunken bodies, she tried to pick one out that would be the perfect victim. Though, honestly, any victim would do at this point. Halloween was supposed to be their high-income night, and she had yet to secure anything. The closest she had come was making two guys fight. Which was very quickly broken up by a mounted policeman before anything happened. Though the smaller guy would have a pretty decent black eye. Oh, well.
Kayla was tired, hungry, and really wanted to go back to her little apartment and curl up with hot chocolate and her kitties. Unfortunately, it simply wasn't devilish behavior, so, here she was, stuck out on Bourbon Street at 2am, watching the masses gorge themselves on alcohol and sex. Well, mostly alcohol. The vast majority were simply too intoxicated for anything else.
Kayla sighed. Her feet hurt.
