Traumfrau
an excerpt

Chuckling he read her letter:

I know you'll need as much luck as you can get, so I got you all the basic tourist junk from Dublin. You never know, it might work. There is an interesting stone in here. We bought it in Navan from a strange little sidewalk vendor. He swore it was the only one like it, so I'm sure he had a box of them under the table! But it's pretty and the same color as your eyes. Love you! Please don't strangle Gerard! ~ Matilda

He laid the letter down and looked at the coffee mug with a bemused smile. The rest of the stuff was pretty awful, as she said, basic tourist junk. A teddy bear in green, plastic shamrocks, another mug, only plastic with the Blarney Stone on it. Theodoric couldn't help but to laugh at his daughter. He found a small velvet bag and pulled it open, letting a heavy stone fall into his palm. It was triangle shaped and pale green. He turned it over in his hand and considered what it was. It didn't look like any stone he had seen before. Matilda was right though, it was pretty and he thought it might just bring him a little luck. If not, he could always use it as a skipping stone, as it was the perfect shape and weight for just that. Not that I could throw away something Matilda gave me, he scolded himself, but gave it a toss in the air like he did with skipping stones to feel the weight.

He laid it on his nightstand and put the rest of the things back in the box, except the coffee mug. He would need a good cup of coffee in the morning and he wanted to drink at least once from this mug, before Rory stole it, as he knew he would. Rory was like a raccoon, anything shiny and he nicked it right away.
Kicking off his shoes he laid down on the bed and stared at the ceiling. For one moment this mind was blessedly quiet and empty.
His clear green eyes fluttered and closed, and soon he was snoring softly.
