Death Of The Gypsy Queen
an excerpt

Here is the story of the Gypsy Queen
An entrancing woman, long and lean
With the strength of youth, but still quite keen
God this woman was sure born mean

Her eyes were oil, liquid warm,
They liked to bring young men to harm
She did what she did with little regret
She’d tell each one “No one’s caught me yet”

Her hands were beauty with death within
Her body was delicious, and purely sin
She knew her power, and used it well
She’d laugh when she said she was going to hell

If you came on down to the Gypsy Queen
She’d welcome you into a room so clean
The air perfumed with cinnamon sweet
She’d read your cards and fill you with heat

She’d tell your future with a subtle smile
Weaving hell for you all the while
Many a man she’d brought to an end
But each man enjoyed it, no way to pretend

This is the story of the Gypsy Queen
A jaded child like you’ve never seen
In the end she reaped just what she’d sown
Even at her death she refused to atone

One supple night she entertained a man
A fellow who knew where this Queen had began
A Queens not a goddess, so how could she know,
The death that this man planned to bestow?

In the depth of the night, The Gypsy Queen fell
Covered in blood, she weaved him a spell
Her voice was liquid, the old words of her clan
Our poor Queen took down her final man

See here this proud gypsy queen
More life in this women than you’ve ever seen
The world couldn’t understand her brand of joy
So this magnificent bird, they had to destroy

Here is the story of The Gypsy Queen
An amazing woman, who died at nineteen
A girl so entrancing it was almost obscene.
God this woman was sure born mean

David threw down the book in disgust. The old words of his ancestors, faded and worn though they were, gave him nothing but frustration. They had once filled him with hope that one day things could change. But now only misery followed the reading of the bound leather diary that held the only clues to his family’s past.

“An amazing woman. Fucking right.” Dave slumped down into his recliner and stared at the offending book. His brilliant blue-green eyes narrowed in thought, and his lips pursed in frustration. “With a word, that faceless whore killed us all.” David lit a cigarette and inhaled deeply, trying to clear his head.

There had been a time when it hadn’t bothered him. He looked back on those times with mild bitterness. How could he have actually enjoyed his state? How could he have thought of his family as blessed? His mother had always tried to tell him, but he had never understood. What was so bad about being able to take the shape of a beautiful creature like a wolf? The freedom that came with the violent shift of bone and muscle was comparable to nothing else he knew.

Oh, how he knew differently now.

David was just coming into manhood. He was a strong 6,3, and had the kind of body that professional runners worked years for. Woman fell over themselves for him, but David, though a usual ladies man had ceased to care about that as of late. At 21, he was ready to go out into the world. He had planned his course of action since he had turned 17. But now everything had gone all to hell.

For centuries his family had concealed a secret, and they had held it close and well. So far, none had discovered their dual nature, but David knew that soon that would all come crashing to an end. The world would discover them, and they would all be hunted down, one by one, and brutally murdered. Perhaps kept alive only long enough to be experimented on.

And the first they would go after would be his five year old sister Lana.
