Synopsis: The Hour of the Crow
Hasaki (Seiya) is a young leader of a 3-men assassination squad in KARAS - a powerful underworld organization with international aspirations. Raised for the role since childhood, Hasaki is ruthless, unemotional and efficient. An incident in his past, in which he let a target escape, haunts him and finding the prince he had set free becomes his life’s goal. When he forms an unlikely friendship with his neighbor, a foreign exchange student with a lively personality and a bright view on the dark city, his meticulous world begins to crack, but the schemes and intrigues of the organization are not easy to escape from.
Excerpt: The Hour of the Crow
“It’s not our job to question the mission.” Seiya simply shrugged. “We exist to kill or be killed.”
“Your soul is as black as your eyes,” Rei spat at him.
“You’ve killed enough innocents. You should have gotten used to it by now.”
“It’s true that there’s blood on my hands that can’t be washed…” the swordsman sighed. “But sometimes I wonder… isn’t there a way out? My sword was meant to protect people.”
“Rei.” The shorter man closed the distant between them. He rested his hand on Rei’s arm. “You’re special. Your sword skills are the reason you were brought in even though you were too old for the program.”
“I know that…”
“If you betray the organization, I will have no choice but killing you.”
Their eyes met in an intense cold gaze.
“I also know that.”
