"Pendulum. P-E-N-D-U-L-E-M. Pendulum."
"I'm sorry, Sue. That's incorrect."
"Whatever." The stage was too high to jump down from, but Sue did anyway.
The audience gasped. They were the churchy, gasping type. Her right ankle twisted slightly, but no real damage; only a shot of bullet-pain up her leg. "Fuck!" She looked around at the idiots in pastels.
"F-U-C-K. Fuck." And turned left toward the side exit from the auditorium.
It was a rockstar kind of exit that she hadn't planned; a bonus in this fucking waste of a day. She was glad she'd worn her Misfits t-shirt backwards; a whim that gave a good show to these asshats.
