Synopsis: ALL I WANT ...
What would you do if an alien AI computer contacted you and told you things you shouldn't know and the police and FBI want to know how you came to know these things but you have no proof of where the information came from because it was all in you head. And of course, since this is science fiction, human civilization is on the line, just to make it more dramatic. Hey, I didn't say I was a good scifi writer. Hee hee.
Excerpt: ALL I WANT ...
I am 65 years old and retired and all I want to do with the rest of my life is make a difference, do something important enough to justify my existance. But then I keep hearing this voice in the back of my mind saying, "Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it."
CHAPTER 1 - LEXIA WYNNE MORGAN
I was late. I had stayed too long at the Pentagon and now was flying the Tryth 2-seat space fighter low and fast over Virginia, heading toward US Navy Captain Lexia Morgan's home. Fortunately I had an alien AI computer showing me all obstacles in my path: things like hills, buildings (I said I was flying low), radio and cell phone towers, aircraft and birds. Well, it was past 9:00 PM, so there weren't many birds in the dark and clear winter sky. I was pushing it, flying at Mach 2.13. I'm sure the sonic boom would be noticed (big time, yes) and might even break some glassware, like windows. I shouldn't be doing this. But I was late and had to pick up Morgan and sneak her aboard the alien starship, before the Tryth Captain, Neimovy, left earth orbit for home.
