Synopsis: Rods from God (working title)

It's 200 years in the future, and the Moon is finally at a stage where it can be colonized quite easily. The last vestiges of religious organization decide to relocate to escape ever growing religious skepticism from local governments. After several years the government of the world under a newly founded one world government decide to consolidate the numerous colonies on the moon. Facing the death of their religion the group on the moon commit an act of terrorism in the form of Kinetic Bombardment, and the aptly named "Rod from God". This ushers new waves of fear toward religion, and the first interstellar war the Earth has ever faced.
