Her feet slowly slid across the dew covered grass. Gently, one after the other, they led her to him. Standing there, a soft smile upon his face, his hand outstretched, anticipating the sensation of her flesh sliding against his. She drew nearer, till she stood but two inches from him. Enthralled with her every movement, the boy brought his hand around her waist and encircled her in an embrace. She closed her eyes, and placed her head against his chest, breathing in deeply the sweet scent of his skin. The boy pulled her in closer, gripped her tighter, and whispered, softly, into her ears, the words he knew she wanted to hear: I love you.
Sunlight poured through the narrow slits of Shaylin’s blinds, gently falling across her eyelids and bringing her forth from her subconscious. The memory of the dream had left her light and peaceful. “Let me hold this” she pleaded with an invisible deity. “Let everything just stop and leave me here, frozen in this.”
