Synopsis: Interregna:New Dawn
This will be part three of my Interregna trilogy.
In the first book of the series, Interregna:Nightfall, we meet one of Excursis Corporation's chief space pilots. He tells the story of his recruitment, training, subsequent participation in the construction of the first tourist hotel in space, and how he became one of Excursis' senior pilots. The story concludes as the Earth descends into a cloud of cosmic dust, putting an end to all space travel, and triggering a new ice age on earth. The heart of the story lies in the attendant sacrifice required to preserve a remnant of Earth's population and it's accumulated knowledge.
In part two, Interregna:Journey, we learn that the Excursis corporation is the visible wing of the overseers, a secretive organization that has been guiding humanity's recovery from the last global disaster, as well as preparing for the impending disaster. Many of our old friends re-appear, and take part in humanities first effort to colonize the stars.
In this installment of the trilogy, Interregna:Dawn, turns its focus back to our mother planet and the struggle for survival as the ice age wears on. New hope is on the horizon. The Solar system is about to emerge from the galactic cloud that inflicted so much sacrifice on humanity. Will the preparations put in place by the overseers bear fruit? Or will humanity descend into another period of feudalistic barbarism?
