Synopsis: Honey Child Pa-lease
Meet Regina Sands, bka Gina, a 22-year old girl-- I mean woman with lots of classy attitude. She is "Ghetto Fabulous" in every way. She has three small children, a dead end job and big dreams and ambitions to do better. Gina recently faced her second divorce, some girlfriend drama, and dating nightmares.
Nevertheless, she has picked herself up, dusted off, and she is moving forward, trying to get her life together and grow up, and find a new husband- a true husband- at the same time.
This novel will make you laugh, cry and ponder life in general. This novel will take you on a roller coaster ride with Gina, as she explores her everyday situations with lots of interesting twist and turns. Who knows you might even find yourself in there!
Excerpt: Honey Child Pa-lease
Gina had her hands full with three small kids, the youngest not yet two years old, and the oldest only seven. Gina married Harold Beasley when she was sixteen. They were forced into marriage because she was pregnant with Helene. That's when her world stopped and her kids' world began. She had been warned by her Uncle to either marry or abort the child. She did not love Harold. She was still a child herself, but she refused to abort the baby she was carrying, so she married Harold and lived in his world for three years until she could no longer endure. You see Harold was a sweet guy and he treated Her well, but the marrige was doomed from the start. Harold was nineteen, he was a man looking for a wife, Gina was a child. She thought like a child. She had to teach herself how to be a wife and a mother. On top of that Harold's family did not like Gina, they blamed her for runing Harold's life with a baby. Gina wanted passion, she wanted romance, she wanted love. So she eventually left Harold and moved on with her life. About a year later she met Markus Jacob aka Junebug. She loved him, she married him and had Mark. Six months later she was pregnant with Jason. They were happy for a long time, everything seemed perfect. Gina wanted to stay with Junebug forever. He was her truest love But soon after she had jason he just up and quit his job and refused to work anymore. Gina was working two jobs and taking care of tweo babies and a small daughter. Junebug eventually added to her trouble by allowing several of his firneds to live with them and none of them worked! So after a year of hard struggle Gina.left her husband June bug because he would not keep a job, and she had grown tired of supporting him. So now she had already experienced two failed marriages and two painful divorces, yet she was only 22 yrs old herself. She was still a child in some ways, and yet a full-grown woman with big responsibilities in other ways.
Gina turned towards the chairs where her kids sat, and there was the man from the elevator, sitting next to Helene, and still staring at her, with a weird smirk as she walked towards them. Why was he staring? She wondered was her hair looking crazy or something. Gina never really gave much thought to how she looked. Moreover, especially not today, after all she had been through already. Yes, she always took the time to put on make up and comb her hair each day, but looks were not top priority in Gina’s life, survival was.
However, she was often told that she was a beautiful woman, and yes, she could see her reflection in the mirror, but to Gina she was average looking. She did not like her large nose or the bad skin problems that had left a few dark spots in her face, which she felt required extra make up to cover, but over all, she thought herself to look ok.
Gina was about five feet tall with a thick hundred and twenty pound frame, junk in her trunk and curbs in all the right places. Her body was nice and firm even though she did not work out. Gina worked at the breakfast bar, Mama Kate’s Kitchen, a local restaurant, and being a waitress was enough exercise for her.
Over all she was pleased with her body and she thought herself to be easy on the eyes, but again looks were not Gina’s main focus in life. That is why it always amazed Gina when men would stare at her as if she was new money or something. Gina never really gave much thought to how she looked. Especially not today. After all she had been throguh already. Of course she always took the time to put on make up and comb her hair, but looks were not top priority in Gina's life, survival was.
