Excerpt: Untitled Historical Romantic Suspense

“Did my father go mad? Are you mad? You can’t be serious. You just can’t.”

Mr. Barlow looked at me over the top of his spectacles while his nose reddened. There was no sign of humor or jest in any of his features. I decided Mr. Barlow was likely a very practical, un-joking type of man. Just the sort of business associate my father would have needed to balance his more eccentric ways.

“I am quite serious, Miss Gardyner. Your father left specific instructions on this matter. You are meant to have all of it.”
