The Regift
an excerpt
Kira looked around the lady’s bathroom, not knowing what to do. Just then, a young lady emerged from one of the stalls and looked at him in surprise. She was wearing a yellow tube dress over a bright orange bikini. She looked in the direction of the door, wondering if she had gone into the wrong bathroom.
“I know this is the ladies’ room, and I’m sorry to barge in like this, but I’m being chased by a friend of mine, we had a bet going, it’s all kind of stupid…Do you think you could do me a favor? I’d like to buy your dress from you. For a hundred dollars.”
“Are you some kind of pervert?” the girl asked, clutching her dress.
“No, no, trust me. Here.”
Kira took a crisp one hundred dollar bill out of his wallet and held it out towards the girl. The girl looked at the money, visibly tempted.
“Well, okay,” she decided with a shrug.
“Can I have one of your hair ties, too?” Kira asked.
“Sure,” the girl said, and gave Kira a hair tie from her wrist.
She lifted the bottom of her dress and pulled it over her head. Kira took it from her and pulled it over his own body. He had to roll up his swimming trunks so they wouldn’t show from the bottom of the hem. Luckily he had thin, hairless legs that could pass for a girl’s, and in fact his face and hair looked very feminine too. He tied his hair into a short ponytail. The girl, folding the hundred dollar bill and stuffing it into her purse, stared at Kira and laughed.
“You could really pass for a girl, you know that? That’s amazing. Do you mind if I take a picture of you with my cellphone? My friends would love to see what you look like. They would never believe how cute you look.”
“Make it fast, then,” Kira said.
The girl stood back, turned her cellphone this way and that to get a good angle, then snapped half a dozen pictures of Kira, who grinned and struck girly poses for her. She laughed.
