Favorite writers: Neil Gaiman, Ray Bradbury, Jerry Spinelli, Laurell K. Hamilton, Anne Rice, Isaac Asimov, Aldous Huxley, Alice Hoffman, Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen Hawking, JRR Tolkein, etc.

Favorite music: Depends on what I'm writing. I've listened to Nox Arcana, AFI, Marilyn Manson, Juno Reactor, Poe, Tori Amos and Placebo a ton while writing. There's probably too many bands to list in this thing really. In general, I've found that all types of music are great for writing. The best thing is to get a good feel of the tone of your novel and find music that fits with that.
