Synopsis: The Writer
Janie lives in the countryside and loves to read mystery stories and write in her journal. However, she wants a mystery of her very own and the old codger who lives in semi-seclusion on the next farm gives her opportunity as suspicious fires and even a lightning strike visit the farm.
Excerpt: The Writer
“You’re not scared are you?” asked Janie sensing her friend’s reluctance. “You don’t have to go if you don’t want to. I might not even go,” she lied knowing full well that she would certainly sneak out and check out the neighbourhood. She had already planned what she would wear. Her black jeans and turtleneck and black balaclava would keep her hidden. She would have to find her black gloves that were put away for the summer though. And maybe she could borrow her dad’s night driving glasses with the tinted lenses. That way, no one would see her as she snuck around in the dark.
