Excerpt: The fabulous unnamed novel set on the sea, with fear and ADVENTURE!
"By the time Bartholomeu found himself pulling the oars of the completely restored dinghy, musing on the terror behind him and confusing on the rusty ship in front of him, Giocco found himself pacing his quarters frantically, head in hands, curtains drawn tight over the porthole, as he tried to focus on all the lovely, beautifully-constructed and preserved things of the world that were NOT fine and beautiful wooden rowboats perfectly and lovingly restored by the strong and able hands of a handsome and strangely aloof Second Mate of South American origin."
...
"Snerd looked at the puny oars of the uncomfortably undersized dinghy and grunted. The coast seemed impossibly, impossibly far away. They were never going to get there!! He glanced down at the meager provisions pack under his sizable feet and snorted with disgust. He absentmindedly patted his chest again to make sure his jerky was still safe."
...
"Giocco sat crouched on the floor in the corner of his quarters, wondering if it was yet safe to open the curtains and let in some air. He eyed the books on the wall nervously. How long had it been? One hour? More? He knew if he didn’t let some sunshine and air into the room before it slipped past the shadow of the ship that he would lose his opportunity today to give his books their daily airing out. Keeping a library onboard a ship was a trying task, to be sure. He could see right now in his mind already that the mold caused by the ship’s moisture was already causing the early stages of decay on each and every page. He began weeping."
