Synopsis: Sanctuary

After most of the major American cities have been destroyed by bombs and biological warfare, the Sanctuaries remain. Most underground, hiding, small communities living together to survive the worst of times.

One Sanctuary rises above the ground, seventy-five floors above the ground, in the ruins of Chicago and rising over Lake Michigan. Luz Murphy, nearly 18 and a former labeled troublemaker who yet has a mysterious gift for healing the sick, returns to her home city after four years in hiding to help the residents of Chicago's Sanctuary stand strong and rebuild their community.

Not everyone would see Sanctuary survive. Not everyone would see the top secret operation to aid the homeless and hopeless succeed. And not everyone in Sanctuary is in perfect health, as claimed. Through the tangle of cover-ups and underhanded betrayals, Luz finds herself standing between one way of life and another, one of which will surely disappear forever if she makes the wrong move.
