Rude Awakening

My eyes slowly opened and I watched as blood dripped from my brow, onto my cheek and down my face. I could move my fingers, I could move my toes, and I was still alive. The muscles in my arm moaned as I reached up and touched my face, gently moving my fingertips toward my hairline seeking out the wound. The fingertips gingerly searched my scalp, only to find that while parts of my skull hurt there was not a wound. Rolling over I was able to see an odd scene.
