The talking banana left at last. They were alone in lab now. The smell of preservatives permeated the air. He took the dead fish from the jar and held it out to her. For a moment they were connected by the dead fish. Then he let it fall from his hand leaving her holding it. She knew there was a message here but she was not sure what make of this symbol. Could he be telling her that he wanted her to be a part of his world? Or did he simply take pleasure in messing with her head? She looked into his eyes trying to decipher his intentions. She wanted to tell him how she felt about him. How much the dead fish she was holding meant to her but she was hesitant. What if the dead fish was just that- a dead fish?
Katie looked down at the paper in front of her. “What the hell?” she said out loud to herself. “Talking banana? And where did the dead fish come from?” She had been hoping for inspiration to strike but this was not what she had in mind. “My muse must be smoking something.”
