Doorways
an excerpt
I stated thinking about the novel I would work on during November. Suddenly my mind was filled with multiple ideas. I asked myself,”How could I focus on one novel, when I had others dancing through my fingers?”
Well, I decided to take the two that wouldn’t be satisfied with just being written down on a note pad and set to the side.
I will, as the month trails on, add to the word count here. When I hit 50,000 words on one of them I will register that one on this site.
Each word counted by me will be registered here, until this site closes down..
Doorways
This is a fantasy about generations of a one family line. This generation learns about their past, their duties, and how to accept themselves.
“Some say I came with the Egyptians, others the Norsemen. Each thought can be true, as I have lived more time than I can remember. More places and peoples speak of me in only the ways they can understand. I am part of the heavens, and earth, I churn the waters of the oceans, and I delight and enlighten the children with my stories.
But most of all I sleep, deep in the warm earth, among the fires that breath life to the embers that give me the crux of mortality. “

Running In Circles
This is a drama; about four different families and showing ‘how’ they got to their tragic point.
“Memories of places
Tend to intermingle,
With the people
That occupied
The between spaces
I wore a sweater, and slacks my curls bobbed up and down as I ran along side my mother as she tried to hurry me past the people leaning against the building. I held back, my pace slowed I was able to see them from under my mothers arm. Dirty and sleepy looking; some stood others sat slouched on the ground their backs holding up the buildings.
A teenage girl stepped out in front of us, my Mother stopped, and I took one step more than she had; so my face was buried in her coat. I pushed her coat to the side and stared at the girl. Her hair as a mess, she had been crying. “
