Synopsis:

characters from previous year's novels likely to turn up again this year:

-The ghost of Manfred's ghost (yes Manfred's ghost died in the last novel, but mysteriously reappeared at the end)

-Fundi the ship-maker (has become steadily less sane over time and now carries a scythe everywhere for no apparent reason)

-Sebarian (for him to reappear he's going to have to come back to life or become a ghost... but somehow he'll probably be back)

-Larry the marmot (who dies in every single book within the first 10,000 words)

-any one of five Tristans who have always cropped up in twos or threes, never is there only one at any given period of the story

-the formerly known as Ted (something rather strange happened to him at the very end of the last novel, no telling what his name will be this year, probably Igigi)

-that one sloth (who lives in a tropical rain forest which has arisen inside an abandoned congressional building)

-the lemmings

-and last but certainly not least: the Fruit Smuggling Pirates! (the name says it all)
