Synopsis: The Two Princes
You can say all you want about Miles Freewater. You could call him cynical. Shrewd. Abrasive. You could tell him he has a Napoleonic Complex, that he's a narcissistic sociopath who's death would do the world good. Oh, yes. You could most certainly say that. But whatever you do, don't call him stupid. You don't call the most powerful man in the criminal underworld stupid without consequence.
You could say just as many things about Mark Van Brink, but he wouldn't care much if you bought him a nice bottle of Scotch to wash it down with. After his high-rolling lifestyle crumbled before him, Mark found himself in Australia, covered in dirt and sweat, without an iron in sight, working as an assassin. It's amazing he hasn't killed anyone yet...oh, wait. Let's not forget that it was a certain crime lord by the name of Miles Freewater who put him in this god awful situation in the first place.
Now, somebody is trying to kill Miles Freewater and Mark would gladly chop off a finger or two not to be that person, but when you're a broke mercenary you don't really have much of a choice in that matter.
Take these two self-obsessed and possibly mentally unstable young men from very different sides of the criminal underworld and make them work together, toss in the Cold War, a few drug lords, and some LA royalty. Add a dash of tequila and just a pinch of international intrigue, and shake it up, and you get my 2009 Novel!
