Synopsis: Live to Die
In January 2009, Fisher Implementation Development (a subsidiary of Fisher Price) found a gene in the human mind they called Z0mL3-13. Z-13 is said to react positively to a certain level of increased cellphone radiation. In their research, FID scientists claimed that a mutated Z-13 gene would lower a subject's conviction levels and increase their influence to advertising.
Someone accidentally wrote a SAR level of 13.3 instead of 3.3.
Using FID's research, Broadcast Limited Technologies developed an i-Phone application called Master-Manipulator, which is marketed as the perfect time management system. It really only raises the level of radiation admitted from the cellphone from 1.6 watts per kilogram to 13.3 watts per kilogram for 3 seconds. The Master-Manipulator app is only available to Seattle residents who are in the city of Seattle on November 1, 2009. They feel very privileged and so all i-Phone users download it.
Due to the mis-calculation on FID's part, BLT's app causes Z-13 to react negatively to the radiation. The radiation spreads to the i-Phone owner, and all within a ten foot radius. Wild mutations happen to the body, starting with the brain. Z-13 becomes a virus, claiming control of the brain and shutting down all non-essential functions. Conviction levels drop completely, causing the affected to indulge in deviant acts within the first three minutes of mutation. After those three minutes, Z-13 controls the conviction levels and gives the affected a type of hive-mind. Z-13 affected subjects are extremely hostile to those unaffected by the mutation. Z-13 cannot be spread, but it cannot be reversed either.
God help those who don't use i-Phones!
