“What’s this going to cost me?” The kid with the freckled ears scratched his nose and looked at the card Kayden held out to him.
“That’s the beauty of it, see, Greg?” Kayden flipped the card back into his pocket. He swapped it out with some pictures from the Internet.
“You want to see gladiators in Ancient Rome?” He shoved a picture into the boy’s hand. “How about Cleopatra in Ancient Egypt?” He leered and held up a photo of a woman in a gold Cleopatra costume. “Or maybe you want a re-do of Alyssa’s birthday party last summer?” He handed him a school photo of the prettiest girl in their 5th grade class.
“No matter where you want to go, no matter what time, no matter what place, no matter what. It’s all just a measly ten dollars.”
Greg scratched his nose harder. It was a gesture that his best friend Kayden knew he did when he was thinking seriously about something. “How do I know you’ll bring me back when I want to come home?”
“You can come home anytime you want.” Time to close the deal.
“Anytime?” Greg turned his head and looked at Kayden out of the corner of his eye.
“My man." Kayden spread his hands wide.
"You."
He jabbed a finger at his friend's chest.
"Are in."
Jab.
"Control.”
Jab.
Kayden shoved his other hand in his pocket and crossed his fingers.
Well, maybe not total control.
