Of Two Minds

Look, I’m not going to tell you that this is some fantastic story about how I saved the world, or how I singlehandedly invented the most innovative creation that the millennium has ever seen; not even that I beat all the bad guys, saved the damsel in distress, and foiled all the nefarious plans.

Cool, nefarious. I don’t get to use that word a lot. Guess that college degree just paid for itself.

This is the story about how I achieved my lifelong dream, made contact with the first type of new intelligence, and managed to keep from going nuts when all the trouble started.

Not that the first things I was talking about didn’t happen, they did. And I did everything that I said I did. But that’s not what this story is about, is all.
