BTCI: Ship in a Bottle
an excerpt

Space, they once said, was the final frontier – each generation look upon their own accomplishments and views them as the greatest yet and for all time to come. Time travel is the new final frontier and has been for the past few Centuries, the Timelines has seen a Temporal Cold War and temporal skirmishes but most of all it has seen temporal crime.
When Time Travel Technology was set free and Time Portals became as common in ordinary peoples’ homes as computer terminals and replicators the temptation to interfere with past events or commit crimes faceless and hidden by time became too great for a lot of people and in 3142 the TCIB, Temporal Crime Investigative Bureau, was added to the Starfleet Charter and although its name changed with time its objective remained the same: investigate Temporal crime and right the timelines.
