A million brilliant ideas formed, mingled, and dissolved in the mind of James Mulberry, each and every one just barely managing to not break the surface of his consciousness. Lately his subconscious was pondering many things he would never have thought about while awake, and one thing in particular: time, which as a concept had a large number of different meanings to all the different people who have existed through the ages. To the fully conscious James Mulberry, however, time was unquestionably meaningless, because his watch was broken. How long it had been this way he did not know, for obvious reasons; not that it bothered him much. He was by no means unintelligent; uninspired, perhaps, but in a fun sort of way.
