I lay there forever, my mind wandering through the darkness, into the blinding light of day, and back again. The clouds wheeled across the arc of the sky, followed by a thousand stars. The trees spoke with the wind, fell silent, sprang to life once more. I found myself thinking about all the other times, all the other jumps.
