Brief Author Bio: So my novel this year was a completely disastrous idea. I had three ideas for it. One was about gypsies. One was a continuation of last year's NaNo novel. And one was about a secret government conspiracy. So what did I decide to do? 10,000 words into the continuation of last year's NaNo, I dropped it and started over. I'm writing about the Mafia. Which has got to say a lot about me as a person, I would think. |

Synopsis: Shoot to Kill. Or, A Short History Of The Streets Of New York, As Told By A Responsible Young Lady.
Liz, short for Elisha, Sugita hates her step-dad and refuses to call him anything but Frank. She hates his last name and she hates her mom for marrying him. Liz is one of those girls that everyone knows, but who doesn't realize that everyone knows her. She is one of those girls that the seniors in her Algebra 2 class can count on to joke around with them, saying things like "Your mom..." and "That's what she said." She loves her truck, Lucielle, and will do anything for it. She has three amazing best friends who pick her up when she goes out and gets drunk on accident.
Liz is a responsible young woman, but one night out on the town when she just can't bear her mother's husband and drunkenness anymore destroys that. She meets a boy. A hot boy. And they exchange phone numbers. And she's off to a whole new world.
Excerpt: Shoot to Kill. Or, A Short History Of The Streets Of New York, As Told By A Responsible Young Lady.
I went home and found that my mother and Frank were sitting in the living room on the couch having sloppy make-outs. Which is not cool.
Have you ever watched two old people making out? Like, not just pecking each other on the lips. I’m talking about full-on, mouth to mouth, hands everywhere, tongues involved making out. It’s completely disgusting. I have this theory that if more old people would start making out in public places and teenagers were forced to watch them, there would be less unplanned teenage pregnancies. The way this works is that the teenagers are forced to watch the old people making out for so long that the images of these two people making out are engrained in their minds. Then, when they go to have sex, they can’t get the images out of their heads and it’s immediately off-putting. Less sex means fewer pregnancies, which also helps with the whole abortion issue.
