Beverly Rosencrantz in finally - finally! - in fourth grade, the top grade at Prince Frederick Elementary. She's the top contender for the annual Hidden Valley Spelling Bee, two days out of the week take her out of the dreaded after school day care and a new girl in town helps fill the void her best friend Gracie absence left on those days when Extend the Day is unavoidable. However her interest in ballet begins to wane, there is more than meets the eye with this new arrival and being the best at something sometimes is never good enough. If only life at the top could be so simple!
