Brief Author Bio:

@thespyglass on Twitter

Compulsive scribbler: lots of journal-type stuff, random observations, homeless dialogue, attempts at poetry, beginnings and halfways of prose-ish things...
Regular OLL event participant: I've got two Nano and two Script Frenzy wins to my name. Also had the extreme pleasure of ML-ing Liverpool for Script Frenzy 2009.

"Good novels are not written by orthodoxy-sniffers, nor by people who are conscience-stricken about their own unorthodoxy. Good novels are written by people who are not frightened." - Orwell

Synopsis: Ghosts [working title]

15th Oct: Still no synopsis. This year I want to play with narrative structure and perspective, use unreliable, frustrating protagonists and generally mess up format in an echo of my characters' respective states of mind. I've got four or five ideas of people floating around and various scenes I want to have manifest around them. Themes include isolation and (dis)connection (all kinds). I can't resist a bit of social commentary or psuedo-philosophical meandering.

29th Oct: Still no synopsis. Same (or similar) story from four different perspectives utilising different styles. Various themes, hopefully complementary. General exploration of different approaches to affecting the world (or failing to, or deciding not to, and why). General questions re. social animals, individualism, accidental collectivism, abstention etc. Specific plot situation re. destructive organised presence in characters' local area which draws responses, galvanises them in strange ways.
Yes, I'm attempting literary fiction.

16th Nov: Errrr...
