Akama woke to the sound of a thud. He blinked his eyes open and looked around him – the sun had risen and was shining merrily overhead. In the branches above him birds were singing, flying to and fro, cheerily going about their business. And on the ground below him Vanda was swearing colourfully.
“What happened?” he called down, and she yelled straight back up to him, scowling.
“You made me fall off the branch!”
